Introduction

The primary mission of the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering is to provide students the solid disciplines of design in both integrated circuits and communication systems abilities such that the graduate students could have broadened their expertise and research capabilities. Its unique master program attracts many excellent undergraduates in Taiwan. The graduate programs emphasize both theoretical knowledge and practical experiences. Excellent faculties and environments give students the best opportunity to establish their domain knowledge as well as practical applications. Cooperation with the companies in Tainan Southern Science-based Park (TSSP), the Institute provides students a practical way to explore their high-tech careers in communication, and consumer electronic industrial areas.

Goal of Establishment

To train students with the capability in designing, implement, and integrating the wireless communication systems on chip. The Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering has established since 2005. The institute was reorganized from integrated electronics and communication research groups originated in the area of electrical engineering. These two research groups were recognized with excellent research contributions in many areas, such as RF circuits, WiMAX technology, wireless and antenna and microwave design, broadband network, etc.

 

Features and Future Development

1. Establish the Ph.D. program to enhance our academic research and achievements.

2. Actively promote an academic exchange and international cooperation with industry,   

  government, and academy both at here and abroad.

3. Encourage our faculty members with CO-OP services across at industry, etc.

Industries: Students from this department gained practical experience in engineering and factory operation; thus, they are highly favored and recruited by array of companies.

Research Institutes: Students from this institute gained fine knowledge of the basis of theory and experiment; they are often recruited and favored by research institutes, such as Industrial Technology Research Institute.

      A possible career of future alumni may select to work in the academic fields-to pass on their academic and research excellence and to cultivate further prospective electrical engineering related students. Someday these alumni may become university chancellors, deans, and departmental chairs at many universities and colleges nationwide and abroad.

      In respond to the establishment of Tainan Science-Based Industrial Park and Tainan Technology Park. The Institute will serve as an important role in both the industrial production and techniques, and desire to envisage to become one of the top Institutes in the world.
